LACE WIG V.S SEW IN INSTALLS

So you want an installation, but aren't sure of WHICH one???

Below are some PROS and CONS of wearing two types of installments. The Lace Wig Installment Method and the Sew-In Installment Method. Hopefully, after reading this post, you will be able to make your decision with confidence.

The sew-In Method

PROS:

  1.  Security- Because the hair is sewn onto your own hair via braid pattern of stylist or customers choice, you don't have to worry about your hair flying with the wind or toppling over onto the ground after bending over to reach for something on the ground or floating in the water after a romantic swim in the family pool. I know, scary right???? Truth is, it happens, more than you know!!!!
  2. NO Adhesive/Glue- Thanks for the weaving technique, No adhesive or glue is needed to secure this style if done properly. This is a HUGE benefit. MOst ppl are very weary of having something BONDED or glued to their head so this provides a level of true skill and trust between the client and the stylist that you can't get with an adhesive or glue .
  3. Low Manipulation- Due to the fact that your hair is braided underneath the sew in, you don't have to worry about a lot of manipulation to your growing hair underneath. You do want to make sure you keep it washed and moisturized underneath to ensure proper hair care.

CONS:

  1. Tightening- As discussed above, this style is most commonly know for being more secure. The friction from the thread wrapping around your braid's can cause the tight throbbing feeling. This will ease with time and you can do some massages to your scalp that will help to relieve this tension.
  2. Neglect of Hair underneath- Sometimes, we get carried away with life and what it bring's we just want the easy method. right?? Well, unfortunately when it comes to the proper care of our luscious locks, we want o take the extra time to care for it and keep it properly. So be sure not to neglect your hair underneath. When washing, be sure to wash it completely. Ensuring no mold or dirt build up will transpire.
  3. The removal process- Removing this particular style is better said than done. Most people prefer to go back to the stylist who installed the unit for removal due to the fear of cutting their own hair because trying to see in the back of your head and manuever a pair of shears is not an easy task. Now don't freight but you will experience some tangling and maybe even shedding during the take down process so be gentle.

The Lace Frontal Install Method

PROS:

  1. Quick and Easy- If you are like me and you get bored with the same hair style after so long then this is the perfect option for you. Quickly and conveintely go from a long 26' inch body wave to a Short bob with a just a few simple steps.
  2. Removal in a snap!- With this method, you have the option of having it installed via Adhesive or not. Most glueless units come with combs that attach to your hair line. Most also come with adjustable elastic bands that help secure the wig in place. As in a sew in, you have to commit to the style until you have it removed.
  3. Undetectable- Perhaps the most prominent feature of all is the stealth abilities this method has!! Some very talented stylist have perfected the art of making this method look so real it's unbelievable. This method has a very high rating and great customer satisfaction for it's invisibility abilities and is one of the most requested hair styles in 2019!!!

CONS:

  1.  Wig Malfunctions- If you have a wig that is not installed with glue or tape, you could experience your wig falling off or sliding back on your head. If you don't to take that risk, be sure to utilize the combs inside the wig for securing your beauty.
  2.  Damage to your hairline/scalp- Don't just pull that off your head like that!!!! Improper care when removing or while wearing this method can lead serious hair damage. The constant applying and re-applying this method requires is not ideal for someone wanting more of a long term style.

So there you have it. Now that you have some newly gained knowledge about what it takes to have one of these styles, it may be a lot easier to make a decision on which one you think is right for you.
